@eldübel Hwinfo ließt den EC zwar aus aber lässt dich nicht an die "raw"werte" wenn ich micht nicht täusche. Dh. wenn RWeverything nicht geht kannst du nichts machen, außer zu warten bis es geht. Oder du findest raus welchen EC diese Geräte verwenden. Bitte versuch den EC auch in verschiedenen Situationen auszulesen (im Akku oder Netzbetrieb). Bist du sicher das du die richtige rweverything version hast?

Nein, Spaß beiseite, für den aktuellen DELL XPS 15 9530 gibt es nicht sehr viel im Netz.

Folgende Seite habe ich gefunden, das sieht mir doch sehr nach den gesuchten Daten aus? Zumindest kommen die Jungs von AIDA damit zurecht und können den Laptop damit in Ihr Programm einbauen. Nun ist nur die Frage, wie bekomme ich das hin...

Ich habe mir mal winmerge installiert, damit kann man ganz gut die einzelnen Daten vergleichen.
Die beiden EC State Tabellen aus dem Nachbarforum in jeweils eine Textdatei gepackt und in WM nebeneinander gestellt. Das Ergebnis könnt ihr im anhgehängten Bild finden...

Nun die Frage, wenn ich einfach alle Änderungen durch probiere mit NBFC, kann ich was kaputt machen am Laptop?

ich stelle auch gerne die beiden textdateien zur verfügung, auch kein stress...

Nein eigentlich kann nichts kaputt gehen. Du kannst zum Beispiel die Akkukapazität mit 0 überschreiben, weshalb der Computer dann nicht mehr booten wird. Dann musst du ihn 10 Minuten ans Netz hängen und warten bis der Akkustand erneut ausgelesen wird. Also es können sehr seltsame Dinge passieren, die sollten sich aber nach einer Weile wieder selbst richten. Gibt es denn ein Profil für die älteren XPS/Inspiron? Dann kannst du mal gucken welche Register die benutzen. Hersteller verwenden meist immer die selben.

Vielleicht hilft ja auch ein kurzes Gespräch mit einem Dell-Techniker weiter. Natürlich ohne Gewähr für ihn bzw. Dell.

ja stimmt, das 15" Gerät habe ich...also den 9550...durcheinander gebracht...

DELL hält sich zurück, habe schon sehr viele Chats und Emails mit dem Technischen Kundendienst hin und her geschrieben, das Programm NBFC unterstützen die überhaupt nicht, wollen und können und dürfen keine Angaben dazu machen. Auch wenn ich das ganze schriftlich auf meine Verantwortung nehme, keine Chance. Ich bin Geschäftskunde und habe die Garantie dazu gekauft, es wird wohl daran liegen.

Auch meine Beschwerde das der Lüfter sich sinnlos dreht wenn ich die TB15 anstecke habe ich schon ausführlich durch diskutiert, auch schon ein neues BIOS habe ich installiert (1.20) und alles keine Besserung.

Derzeitig habe ich meinen Wünsch zur Rückgabe des Geräts geäußert, warte jedoch noch auf eine Rückmeldung seitens DELL. Mein Rückgabewunsch liegt aber noch in den 14 Tagen, das ganze schriftlich, unser Rechtsanwalt sagt das würde ihm genügen wenn es zum Streit kommt. Ich kann mit Chat Protokollen belegen das mir Leistungen verkauft wurden, die nicht im Paket dabei sind (Funktion Docking Station, anschalten Laptop an Docking Station, lautloser Office Betrieb mit Docking Station)

Mal sehen wie DELL reagiert, wobei ich schon sagen muss das ich eigentlich keine Lust auf einen Rechtsstreit mit DELL habe. Vor allem weil ich den XPS außerordentlich schön finde und es auch nicht wirklich eine alternative dazu gibt...

Es wäre wirklich super wenn mir jemand mit dem Problem helfen könnte...wat wäre ich happy

Seit gestern Abend ist NoteBook FanControl offiziell via chocolatey verfügbar: https://chocolatey.org/packages/nbfc

Vorteil davon: man muss sich nicht durch ein Setup Klicken und bekommt automatisch Updates für NBFC (und alle anderen Pakte die man via chocolatey installiert hat).

the official that came with the program ? Asus ROG G751JY or other ?

There is other profile that someone made before it came with the program. G751JY (Best Working - Enter Issues ).

The official one has only 1 fan control. the other profile has 2 Fan Controllers , which one is better ?

irgendwie komm ich mit der Anleitung gar nicht klar..ich hab nen Acer Predator G9-791 ....da werden soviele Werte rot und ändern sich ständig.....da hab ich kein Plan, was CPU und GPU temp sind und was möglicherweise die Lüftersteuerung sind..hab es auch mit dem Acer Predator Sende versucht zu testen..(dort kann ich Lüfter auf maximal stellen) um dann zu schauen wenn ich die Option wieder rausnehme und die Lüfter langsam gen 0 aus gehen..aber ich werd nicht schlau...hab auch (schon zuviel wohl..mit 14 und FF probiert)..

das einzige was mir aufgefallen ist das sich um E0 Bereich immer sehr viel bewegt...

Hi guys,

I am posting a new configuration for the Yoga 3 1470 80JH using Windows 10 and NBFC 1.4.2.
I appreciated a lot the work done by Mr. Cheeze

but I found it incomplete, so I basically investigated the issue a bit more.

I did not open the notebook but I found online that it is equipped with 2 fans. So, first step was adding the 2nd fan.
Then I started to investigate if we can effectively control the fans and the answer is NO, but we can play a bit to force them to have a behavior. My target was only one: REDUCE the FANS NOISE and consequently their speed, because I think that this laptop is almost able to work in fanless mode (and believe me I stress it a lot, especially in terms of multitasking).

Before showing my personal code to be used in NBFC I am giving you some information I retrieved by the Read&Write software (32bit version works well).
→When Fans starts HEX values show up at position 6 and 254. These are the 2 actual speed values of the fans.
→The target values (so where you have to write the desired fans speed) are in position 86 and 176. I am not totally sure if they are the effective position to write but they seem the only position which considerably vary according to the change of fans speed

For the sake of precision, I used the fan dust removal tool in the lenovo optimizer app to see how the fans speed changes and I assumed that the maximum speed is equal to the one produced by this tool. I have to mention here other three aspects:
1. I have used as maximum the maximum value observed
2. Without using NBFC the system never reaches this maximum speed because it is really very noisy. In normal condition the maximum speed is about 2/3 (still noisy for me) of the one reached when dust removal tool is used.
3. The speed you have when dust removal is working is not the maximum possible one in reality. In the case you update the BIOS you can "appreciate" a noisy never heard before on the fans (but the PC is in DOS mode, so I could not measured it...for this reason I did not consider it)

Ok, now it is time to post the configuration, but before that...

KEEP IN MIND:
1. I played a bit with the temperatures thresholds and fans speeds to force the fans to work at about the half of their speed (value which I consider acceptable in terms of noise). WE ARE NOT ABLE TO CONTROL THE FANS SPEED because the EC updates continuously the target value where we will write the desired speed. So reducing the EC poll interval at 500 ms, with this configuration I am continuously forcing the target value to stay at the desired one.
2. The response time of the fans is not quick, so with this configuration the fans barely start to run (you have to stay at high CPU temp. a lot to notice the fans starting running)
3. Play with the fans speeds and temperature thresholds according to your needs!!! E.g. if you want to fans constantly running at a fixed speed insert the speed % you desire even at the lowest CPU temp. ranges and you can notice the fans constantly running.
4. I think the system is not able to use the fans at each speeds we want but there are only some fans speeds which can be accepted. Here I am indicating someones in terms of %: 0%→40.3%→45.8%→52.8%→66.7% (you can deduce the decimal value considering that 0% is 0 and 100% is 72....and of course from these you can calculate the hex values). Just to be clear, for me 52.8% starts to be noisy.

Asus r751j

Moin Leute,

habe ein ASUS R751J mit Core i7 4700HQ. Da ich den Laptop dauerhaft laufen lasse (Berechnungen für BOINC), hätte ich auch gerne den Lüfter permanent mit Volllast laufen, um das nervige Throttling der CPU zu vermeiden/minimieren. Momentan dreht der Lüfter hoch und runter, obwohl die CPU voll ausgelastet ist.

Das Manual zum Erstellen einer eigenen Config habe ich soweit befolgt. Die Einstellungen habe ich im Admin-Account durchgeführt. Leider ist es mir noch nicht einmal möglich, das Write Register zu finden, um testweise den Lüfter auf fullspeed einzustellen. Ich bin im Idle alle rot markierten Register durchgegangen und habe versucht, die vorher ausgelesenen Werte (des schnell drehenden Lüfters) einzutragen. Aber nichts passiert.

Im Anhang sind ein paar Screenshots. Hat jemand Ideen? Vielen Dank.

PS: Die vorhandenen ASUS-Configs von NBFC funktionieren bei meinem Laptop leider nicht.

Habe das HP G3 440 mit w10 und nutze die Config "HP ProBook 650 G1" mit der neuesten FanControl Version (1.4.2).
Nachdem Ruhezustand oder Standby greift das Programm nicht mehr (siehe Bild) - selbst wenn ich es als Administrator Neustarte.

Erst wenn ich das gesamte System Neustarte, funktioniert alles wieder tadellos.

Repeated the process and it definitely seems to be linked to the NBFC servcie somehow causing it!!!

First of all, thank you to the OP for this wonderful software!

I am also having the same Fn key issue. If held down, it acts as a backspace with NBFC enabled. I also noticed the ghost action that occurs depends on the fan speed selected. Auto leads to backspace but other speeds lead to the left or down arrow etc. Let me know how I can help solve this!

I came across this thread trying to find a way to independently control the CPU/GPU fans on the UX32VD. Even though it seems like both register 150 and 151 change with the fan speeds, only register 151 seems to have an effect on the fans, and it affects both at once (although one spins up and slows down faster than the other). Can anyone confirm that's all that's possible?

Also, can you think of any way to slightly overspin the fans?
