The powerful chipset also provides superior image qualities that totally redefine the top-of-the-line graphic standard of the integrated chipsets.

Taipei, August 12th, 2003 --- Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), a world leader in core logic products, today announces the latest integrated chipset supporting the 400MHz Front Side Bus on AMD AthlonTM XP platform ---SiS741. With the 400MHz FSB and high-speed DDR400 features, the SiS741 also embeds the high performance graphic engine to provide excellent performance for computer players.

With the leading-specifications, SiS741 enables AMD AthlonTM XP 400MHz FSB and DDR400 RAM to achieve the optimal performance and the outstanding operating environmen. The powerful chipset also provides superior image qualities that totally redefine the top-of-the-line graphic standard of the integrated chipsets.

Furthermore, by adopting SiS“ revolutionary HyperStreaming™ Technology and the intellectual data-processing module, SiS741 offers the best performance and the most efficient resource distribution. The data transmission can be processed either synchronously or by batch to fully exploit the incomparable power of the multi-task operating environment.

“All series of SiS“ integrated chipsets are moving forward to a new era that requires hi-end performance. With supporting advanced 400MHz FSB and excellent performance in all aspects, SiS741 is the best choice of the AMD AthlonTM XP platform." said Michael Chen, president and CEO of SiS. "Notebook and Mobile platform have lead the market trend in nowadays, SiS will present complete product line to satisfy the market needs."

Motherboard makers have been starting on the testing and related design with the SiS741 engineering sample. Mass production of motherboards adopting the SiS741 chipset will commence in September 2003.

SiS741 supports the latest AMD AthlonTM XP 400MHz FSB clock, proving stable high-speed computing function and multiple RAM formats which include DDR400, 333, and 266. Through SiS' Ultra-AGPIITM Technology and the outstanding graphic core, SiS741 is able to achieve the VGA Throughput up to 3.2GB/s with DDR400, which significantly outperforms the former 2.1GB/s standard speed provided by AGP 8X. SiS741's superb ECLK and 1600x1200 high resolution can support UXGA TFT-LCD output and perfectly perform high quality images for 3D games.

SiS964 will be coupled with SiS741 as the South Bridge Chipset, which integrated with Serial ATA high-speed transfer interface. The brand-new South Bridge Chipset SiS964 not only supports Dual-Channel parallel ATA, but also adds two independent Serial ATA150 connection ports, which offer storage devices with data transmission speed up to 150MB/sec. Other special features include 8 built-in USB2.0 ports, which meet the requirement for increasing peripheral device connections, full 5.1 channel surround sound, V.90 modem and Ethernet network. The SiS964 also supports Multiple RAID disk array modes, including RAID0, RAID1, and JBOD, which further enhance the stability and performance of the operating environment.
