Gigabyte stellt SiS 655FX Mainboards vor

Mit dem GA-8S655FX Ultra präsentiert Gigabyte ein Mainboard auf Basis des SiS 655FX. Der SiS 655FX unterstützt sowohl FSB800, Dual Channel DDR400, AGP 8x als auch Hyper Threading. Gigabytes 8S655FX Ultra hat aber noch einiges mehr zu bieten.

Gigabit Ethernet, Serial ATA, Firewire, onboard Sound und IDE Raid gehören ebenfalls zu den Features der Platine.

SiS' Hyper Streaming Engine (HSE) soll dem Board zudem eine hervorragende Performance verschaffen. Diese Technik erlaubt es, Daten durch eine spezielle Optimierung je nach Anforderung entweder gestreamt oder aber in einzelnen Paketen zu übertragen. Die Southbridge ist über die MuTIOL Technologie mit einem 1 GB/s schnellen Bus an die Northbridge angebunden. Zudem verfügt das Mainboard über die bekannten Features einer Gigabyte Platine. Neben dem GA-8S655FX Ultra stellte Gigabyte auch noch zwei weitere Modelle für den kleineren Geldbeutel vor, das GA-8S655FX-L und GA-8S655FX. Preise für die drei neuen Modelle gab Gigabyte jedoch noch nicht bekannt.
