Win2k DMA Modus (mal wieder....)

moin!
nach über 2 jahren des leids hab ich immernoch keine Lösung für dieses problem gefunden:
anscheinend funktioniert bei mir (und bei jedem anderen den ich kenne und der win2k hat!!!!) der dma modus nicht.
das macht sich durch hohe cpu last und niedrige transferraten (~20 mb/s) beim verschieben/kopieren von daten bemerkbar..
in der systemsteuerung ist bei den ide kanälen "dma, wenn möglich" aktiviert, die festplatten hängen alle an udma 100 kabeln
auch hatte ich mir vor einiger zeit mal nen registry fix runtergeladen, der allerdings aunix gebracht hat

wie gesagt ich kenne niemanden bei dem der dma modus in win2k funktioniert wie er soll...
bei win98 war das kein problem und datendurchsätze von 40mb/s waren standart...

hoffentlich weiß jemand rat...

Ohne das Servicepack läuft der Udma Modus bei 2k nicht. Erst ab SP1 kann der UDMA 66 genutzt werden. Ab SP2 sollte der U100 laufen, aber ist nicht gesagt. Es gibt aber Patches die das beheben können.

Oder wenn Via Chipsatz, die Treiber von Via installieren.

Wenn Du einen Brenner hast, solltest Du Dir eine Bootcd erstellen und die Dateien draufpacken. Bootimages gibt es bei

Boot Disk

(BIN/CUE = Goldenhawk CDRWIN or Fireburner, ISO = Adaptec/Roxio Easy CD Creator, NRG = Ahead Nero Burning Room) For BIOS flashing I generally recommend using DR DOS. It's pure and simple without any drivers. You only need the BIOS binary and the awdflash.exe.
