News Doom 3 läuft nicht auf Windows 9x/Me

Aber mich nervt das CD Wechseln immer bei der Installation.

Ich empfinde das ebenfalls als sehr lästig. Aber jetzt ist es nunmal so... ich verstehe es aber dennoch nicht.

Mich nervt das ja auch, aber einmal kann man das schon machen. Das steigert die Vorfreude dann noch mehr. Wenn du dann bei der Install davor hockst und wartest und dann der freudige moment endlich da ist: bitte 3. CD einlegen dann weist du bald isses geschafft und dann...

Ich hoffe mal dass das Spiel auch für Linux rauskommt oder es vielleicht auch so unterstützt. Was auch immer ich hoffe es läuft. Dann wird XP wenigstens nicht wegen diesem Game aus den Tiefen meiner Festplatte geladen sondern mein herrliches Linux wird starten.

Kann man das irgendwie umgehen das die Meldung nicht mehr kommt?

doom läuft nicht auf win 2003, also installiere dir xp oder 2000. Das 2003 ist sicher ne demo, oder?
Nebenbei tausche deine tastatur mal gegen eine neue, deine ?-Taste klemmt.

Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass du von beiden Programmen eine Originalversion besitzt. ()

Windows 2003 ist ein Server OS, zielt deshalb auch nicht auf Spiele ab und somit wird dafür auch kein Support geboten.

Wie auch auf der Orginalverpackung steht. Es läuft "nur" unter WindowsXP und Windows2000.

man kann aber versuchen die setup.exe (oder wie die setup datei eben heißt) im kompatiblitätsmodus laufen zu lassen.
dann läufts auch hoffentlich mit 2003, hab nämlich auch win2003.

to Enable windows 9x/Me support for original Doom 3 version 1.0 (6659308 bytes):

1. download any 'Hex Edit' utility
2. open Doom3.exe with it
3. go to offset 00374F1E and 00374F1F
4. change and save it as follows:
00374F1E: 45 ----change to---->00
00374F1F: 78 ----change to---->00
5.Run and enjoy it

If your majesty think that ID Software don't deserve your money because they made Doom 3 running on Windows 2000 or Windows XP and that's the reason why you have a pirate , illegal, cracked or whatever Doom 3 version follow the next steps:

1. download any 'Hex Edit' utility
2. open Doom3.exe with it
3. find the next string 'GlobalMemoryStatusEx'
4. replace the 'Ex' with 00,00 in HEX MODE!!!
5. save it
6. Run and enjoy it

BUT....
With the next coming patch it may be changed to make you buy and install the most unwanted , slow , onstable, useless, onsecured, wasted resources, not for home use Windows XP/2000 operation system because ID Software is owned by Microsoft hahaha or well.... are they just stupid enough that can't figure out your physical and virtial memory status without using an API??????- i doubt it very much!!!!!!!!
