Intel ernennt Brian Krzanich zum neuen CEO
Seit der überraschenden Ankündigung im vergangenen November, dass der bisherige Intel-CEO Paul Otellini im Mai in den Ruhestand treten wird, rätselte man nicht nur beim Konzern selbst über seinen Nachfolger. Dieser ist nun gefunden: Aus den eigenen Reihen wurde Brian Krzanich auf den Chefposten gehoben.
Wie der Konzern heute mitteilt, wurde Krzanich vom Vorstand einstimmig als neuer CEO des weltgrößten Halbleiterherstellers gewählt. Am 16. Mai soll er im Rahmen einer jährlichen Veranstaltung für Investoren das neue Amt offiziell übernehmen. Der seit 1982 für Intel tätige Krzanich wird damit der sechste CEO in der Geschichte Intels. Zuvor bekleidete der 52-Jährige gelernte Ingenieur Aufgaben in verschiedenen Bereichen, zuletzt als COO auch in führender Position.

Parallel zum neuen CEO stellt der Konzern Renée James als Präsidentin von Intel vor. Die 48-Jährige soll ihr neues Amt ebenfalls am 16. Mai antreten.
