Nun mal meine näherer Betrachtung:
Beyond3D:
"In performance terms, we can see that this makes for a very attractive board. Despite only having less than half the bandwidth of the Radeon 9700 PRO, in most cases it can offer much more than half the overall performance. With 128MB of RAM the Radeon 9500 PRO has all FSAA levels available in all resolutions (where 64MB cards don't) and these modes are still surprisingly useable in many titles.
All in all, at a $200 price point ATI have got a very attractive performing board with all the features that Radeon 9700 PRO offers. DirectX9 and usable high quality FSAA and Anisotropic filtering for the masses."

"ATI says the Radeon 9500 Pro will jump out of the gate with a $20 rebate on its retail list price of $199. That kind of pricing puts the 9500 Pro nearly on par with the GeForce4 Ti 4200 8X, and I'd expect street prices to be lower than list, especially once ATI's manufacturing partners like Hercules and Tyan get rolling. At prices like that, the 9500 Pro should become very popular, almost overnight. Also, consider this: with NVIDIA's high-end GeForce FX slated to arrive no sooner than February, it could be four to six months before NVIDIA has a proper, mid-priced answer to the 9500 Pro. That reality will leave a lot of folks asking: why wait? The 9500 Pro is a compelling reason not to."

Was FSAA und AF angeht:

)
R9500 Pro: 128 FPS <-- von vormals 136 FPS!!!
Bei 4*FSAA + 8*AF geht die Ti4600 dann völlig baden:
GF4Ti4600: 40 FPS
R9500 Pro: 65 FPS
R9700 zeigt hier die wahre Stärke: 84 FPS, R9700 Pro sogar 98 FPS!!!
In UT2K3 @ 1600*1200 + 4*FSAA + 8*AF // FlyBy // Botmatch
GF4Ti4600: 18 // 10.6
R9500 Pro: 30.8 // 19.6
Bei der 1024er Auflösung ist bei der R9500 Pro noch spielbar (66 // 55), die Ti4600 geht da schon merklich die Puste aus (47 // 30).
FAZIT:
"ATI has brought a new level of power to the $200 price point. Even NVIDIA’s GeForce4 Ti 4600 can’t keep up with the RADEON 9500 PRO in many cases! On top of its incredible performance, the feature set of RADEON 9500 PRO is just as impressive. You’ve got full DirectX 9 compliance and 128-bit color support, 8-pixel pipelines for 16 textures per pass, and AGP 8X. Okay, so we’re reaching a bit with that last feature, but still, the RADEON 9500 PRO is loaded to the max with features. The only aspect the RADEON 9500 PRO is missing is the RADEON 9700’s 256-bit memory interface, and if you want that you’ll have to pay $100 more for it in the form of the RADEON 9700. NVIDIA’s GeForce4 Titanium line just can’t match what ATI is offering at this point. Now that ATI has completed the RADEON 9500 PRO, their biggest challenge is going to be meeting demand. Just as the GeForce4 Ti 4200 was an instant success for NVIDIA, we have a feeling that the RADEON 9500 PRO will be a smash hit for ATI. If they can supply cards to the retail sector and their manufacturing partners in time for the holiday sales rush ATI could have a very merry Christmas this year."
