Über ihre Repositories erhalten Linux-User auf Wunsch schon längst Mozilla Firefox in 64 Bit, jedoch gab es noch keine derartige Veröffentlichung von Mozilla selbst. Das nervt (mich), weil man beim Benutzen eines 64-Bit-Linux-Systems zusätzliche 32-Bit-GTK-Bibliotheken reinbasteln muss, wenn man eine Entwicklungsversion benutzen will.
Das Problem ist jetzt gelöst: Es gibt eine 64-Bit-Nightly von Firefox 3.1b3pre, die sofort funktioniert. Ich weise trotzdem darauf hin, dass es sich um eine Nightly handelt, welche möglicherweise nicht stabil ist!
