Jetzt haben die Entwickler von KDE die neue Version 5.21.2 freigegeben, die kleinere Fehler aus KDE Plasma 5.21.1, welcher das Zusammenspiel von Nvidia Optimus und Wayland deutlich verbessert hat, ausmerzen soll.
Hohes Entwicklungstempo
Nachdem die modulare Desktop-Umgebung für die freien Betriebssysteme Linux, FreeBSD und Solaris mit KDE Plasma 5.21 erst Mitte Februar neu erschienen ist und zahlreiche Detailverbesserungen erhalten hat, hält die KDE-Community das Entwicklungstempo hoch, denn auch die Konkurrenz schläft nicht.

Mit Gnome 3.38.3 („Orbis“) und Xfce 4.16 haben auch zwei weitere große freie Desktops für Linux und Unix erst vor kurzem eine Frischzellenkur erhalten. KDE Plasma v5.20.5 hingegen wird fester Bestandteil des kommenden Debian GNU/Linux 11 („Bullseye“) sein, wenngleich auch hier Gnome vorerst noch der Standard-Desktop sein wird.
