Die Virtualisierungssoftware Oracle VM VirtualBox 7.0.0 ist offiziell erschienen und unterstützt jetzt auch erstmals Microsofts aktuelles Betriebssystem Windows 11. Damit werden Neuinstallationen des Nachfolgers von Windows 10 erstmals auch offiziell unterstützt, nachdem zuvor bereits ein Upgrade des Systems möglich war.
VirtualBox 7.0.0 für Windows, macOS und Linux
Die neueste Version von Oracle VM VirtualBox ist jetzt erstmals offiziell kompatibel mit Windows 11, nachdem Microsoft und Oracle bereits mit der Version 6.1.28 ein Problem mit Hyper-V und dem Windows-Hypervisor gelöst und ein Upgrade ermöglicht hatten. Version 7.0.0 läuft damit auf den folgenden Windows-Host-Systemen:

Neuer 3D-Grafikstack unter Linux
VirtualBox 7.0.0 führt auch einen neuen 3D-Grafikstack ein. Diese 3D-Unterstützung für VirtualBox basiert auf DirectX 11, während Oracle angibt, dass es DXVK für Nicht-Windows-Hosts verwendet (insbesondere: DXVK-Native), was bedeutet, dass der Direct3D-Stack letztendlich über Vulkan läuft.
