Samsung HD501LJ Firmware CR100-10 to CR100-13

Hi, i am from spain, and i am trying to read in your language, but i understand nothing sorry. I would like to know if it is possible to update the firmware from version 10 to 13, because the utility says to me "this program isn't available for this drive", and nothing more i can do. I have readed something about this in this forum, but i can't understand... can someone tell me something about this??? Thanks!

You don't need to update the firmware, excepting you use a raid. Is your HD501LJ part of a raid?

No, it's a backup hard drive. Then, there are 4 firmwares as far as i know from 10 to 13 rev a01 (ther is a 13 rev a00), but i don't know what they do. But, if i buy another one and do a raid with them, would i have problems?? Thanks.

Here are some information about the update to CR100-13.
"This firmware update corrects a feature that inadvertently causes "RAID degraded" messages on supported platforms."

If you don't use a raid, you don't need to update. I have also a HD501LJ and I have no problems with the old firmware.

I think it is better to flash all harddrives to the same up-to-date firmware if you are going to build a raid. Otherwise, just keep the old.

How did you try to update? Which storage medium did you use?
In this thread someone updated from 10 to 13 by using a cd.

I am trying to update the firm from 10 to 13, but it says "this program isn't available for this drive" when it finishes. It detects the drive, but gives me that error. I updated with the same CD for drives with version 12, but this one with 10 doesn't want to update. In that post, did someone have any trouble with an unpdate like mine?? I can read something like my error in the final posts.

i got exactly the same problem here.
I got 2 HD501LJ drives one with the fw CR100-10
and one with CR100-12.

i used nvidia ck804 (nforce4) controler
