I am not so sure if Sony know or they even care, consider their 2016 flag ship like the X930D, X940D or even the last year models were out in customers hands for a while. The input lag was unacceptable for any competitive gaming even in 1080p mode but still they have never bother to update or do anything about them unlike their competitors Samsung which had updated their TV a few times already to stay on top as the best all around 4K LCD tv. For exmaple, the x930D has a 74.7 ms lag for 4K@4:4:4 60hz, the most important setting for PC, that is beyond bad and yet they have done nothing. Also notice that all the 4K HDR demo they are showing at TGS with the X930D were all "hands off" demo, I bet everyone will turn off immediately the moment they actually play the games with the ridiculous amount of lag. As I said earlier, HDR gaming starts next week (NBA 2k17 for xbox one s), just because their own little device isn't out or have any HDR enabled contents available for their system doesn't mean they can neglect customers that game on their xbox.
