Kurze Frage, was genau bedeutet "Preview" bei solchen Updates?

Ich konnte nichts finden, weil Preview als Suchbegriff auf alles mögliche führt. Danke.

also eine Vorschau auf kommende Funktionen die beim aktuellen Stand noch nicht final sind, wie bei der späteren, finalen Version des Updates.

ja, kannste so sehen, eine Vorschauversion auf kommende Features wo halt noch nicht alles mit drin ist was am Ende drin sein soll. Ein early access Update sozusagen

Ich meine jetzt nicht dieses Update im Speziellen sondern eher wie sich MS das denkt. Wieso gibt es solche Updates? Damit die Mutigen die Kaninchen spielen? Oder weil es wichtige Updates sind? usw usf..
Wäre toll wenn es dazu ein MS Statement gäbe. Sowas hätte ich gerne gelesen.

Monthly quality updates​

Next, I’d like to offer a quick summary of our monthly quality update types:

• At times referred to as our “B” release, Update Tuesday (most often referred to as Patch Tuesday) updates are published the second Tuesday of each month. These updates are the primary and most important of all the monthly update events and are the only regular releases that include new security fixes.
• An out-of-band release is any update that does not follow the standard release schedule. These are reserved for situations where devices must be updated immediately either to fix security vulnerabilities or to solve a quality issues impacting many devices.
• The “C” and “D” releases occur the third and fourth weeks of the month, respectively. These preview releases contain only non-security updates, and are intended to provide visibility and testing of the planned non-security fixes targeted for the next month’s Update Tuesday release. These updates are then shipped as part of the following month’s “B” or Update Tuesday release.

Optional previews – aka "C" releases

If you want to test and/or validate production-quality releases ahead of the planned “B” release for the following month, you can leverage “C” releases, which are optional, cumulative, non-security preview releases. “C” releases are only offered for the most recent, supported versions of Windows. New features like News and Interests may initially be deployed in the prior month’s “C” preview release, then ship in the following month’s “B” release.

To access “C” releases, navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates.

Wieso gibt es solche Updates?

"Previews" gibt es generell damit zB Firmen vorab testen können ob sich Ihre eingesetzte Software evtl damit beist.

Kann man eigentlich die automatische Installation von dem Mist deaktivieren wenn man denn doch mal auf Updates suchen geklickt hat?
Unter Win 7 hatte man wenigstens noch die Option den Dreck abzuwählen.
