Firefox: Update-Kanal umstellen erfolglos

Wenn ich in Firefox unter about:config den Eintrag app.update.channel auf aurora stelle, bin ich immer noch auf dem beta-Channel. Den Firefox habe ich selbstverständlich neugestartet. Der Eintrag wird bei einem Neustart auch nicht zurückgesetzt; wenn ich allerdings auf "Über Firefox" gehe, dann steht dort immer noch, dass ich auf dem beta-Channel bin. Wie kann man den Update-Channel also umstellen?

Note that you cannot change channel using about:config.

Alternatively, you can edit the channel-prefs.js file with a text editor.

das Umschalten zw. den Channels wurde doch recht früh wieder entfernt. Lad dir doch die letzte Version vom Mozilla Ftp.
