Diaspora - FreeWare Freespace 2 Galactica Mod

Was lange währt..
Der Eine oder Andere mag sich vielleicht an den "Beyond The Red Line" Mod erinnern dessen Demo vor knapp 4 Jahren released wurde. BtRL hat die Entwicklungshölle leider nie verlassen aber mit Diaspora ist nun Ersatz von Teilen der BtRL Entwickler da. Wie auch BtRL stellt Diaspora eine Mod dar welche stark durch BattleStar Galactica inspiriert wurde.

Der Freespace Source Mod ist Standalone und benötigt kein installiertes FreeSpace 2.

Geboten wird:

• Kampagne
• Multiplayer-Missionen die mit Freunden zusammen gespielt werden können, egal ob auf Cylonen und Kolonial-Seite.
• Vertonung anderer Piloten und Missionen
• Ein kompletter Soundtrack inspiriert durch die Kompositionen von Bear McCreary aus der Serie.
• Die Möglichkeit weitere Missionen mit dem beigelegten MissionsEditor zu erstellen

Verfügbar ist die Mod für Linux, Mac und Windows.

Known Issues

-Due to the size of the Windows installer it may take a long time for the installer to actually start. This may last several minutes (up to five minutes in some instances). There are reports that virus checkers may extend this delay so you may wish to turn them off during the installation process.
-This problem hasn't been reported yet for Mac but might exist there too.
-Multiplayer is currently very much in beta. Also, in order to enhance the eventual multiplayer experience, the team decided not to finalise the balance between ships.
-Feedback from players is very welcome. The true multiplayer experience will be available in the next release. Till then, if you wish to experiment, here's how to get started.

Soundtrack

During the time we've spent developing Diaspora, we have frequently been asked which songs from the show we've used in our trailers. The fact is that almost all the music in the game or trailers has been original. So for that reason, we're also releasing the soundtrack. You can find details on it here.

Tech Support

If you guys have any significant technical problems with the game, posting in our Tech Support forum would help us a lot to consolidate existing issues so other users can find solutions.

Sieht schon mal gar nicht schlecht aus, da ich FreeSpace sehr gerne gespielt habe, werde ich mir das Game mal herunterladen(btw. könnte man FS auch mal wieder beleben)

Keiner hier, der es zockt? Macht im Multiplayer viel Laune und ist aufgrund der optional freien Steuerung (6 Freiheitsgrade) sehr fordernd (trotz nicht vorhandener Schiffswahl).

Gerade in Vorbereitung auf Star Citizen/Squadron 42 gutes Training.

PS: Der Thementitel macht leider den Eindruck, dass der Besitz von Freespace 2 Voraussetzung wäre. Es nutzt ja FS2Open, was nur noch bedingt was mit Freespace 2 selbst zu tun hat. »Diaspora - FreeWare Galactica space sim« oder so wäre passender.
