Interessant. Mal schauen welches Protokoll Nvidia mit Ampere Next unterstützen wird.

Das war (für mich) zu erwarten. Interessanter finde ich:

AMD is apparently changing its socket type from PGA to LGA (land grid array), which means there be no pins on the next-gen AMD processors, instead, pins will be located on the motherboard socket.

Hoffentlich bekommen wir so mehr Pins und mehr PCIe-Lanes. Jetzt wo nach und nach alle SSDs per PCIe angebunden werden, sind 20 freie Lanes einfach nicht mehr Zeitgemäß, auch nicht auf einer Consumerplattform. USB-C/Thunderbolt ist ja künftig auch ein Thema.

Für Grafikkarten ist das doch eh komplett uninteressant.

Dachte PCIe5.0 ist primär für Server (CXL) entwickelt wurden daher auch die "noch" Unsicherheit ob Intel wirklich ADL-S support geben wird.

Aus dem gleichen Artikel geht auch hervor, dass der Zen 4 schon Anfang 2022 erwartet wird. Das Originalinterview würde aber schon am 10. Nov 2020 veröffentlicht.

Kein PCIe5 wäre jetzt absolut nicht tragisch.

LGA ist absehbar und letztlich wohl auch eine vernünftige Wahl.
