Command Line with Explicit Parameters

Command syntax: 3C90XCFG CONFIGURE [ /BSTATE:N /XCVR:N /TR:N
/FULLDUPLEX:N /OPTIMIZE:N /LINKBEAT:N ]
Command line configuration parameters are used to configure the
NIC using only the option settings you specify. Some
parameters are for all NICs; some are for PCI only. For
example, /BSTATE:N is a PCI-only parameter. In most cases, any
combination of parameters can be used. Therefore, it is possible
to modify only a few settings if needed.
/BSTATE
Boot PROM state
Possible values - disabled, enabled
/TR (or /XCVR)
Transceiver
Possible values - Auto, 100BASE-TX, 10BASE-T, COAX, AUI,
100BASE-T4, 10BASE-FL, and 100BASE-FX
/OPTIMIZE
Network Driver Optimization
Possible values - NORMAL, NETWORK, CPU
/LINKBEAT
Link Beat disable/enable (pre-10BASE-T standard only)
Possible values - disabled, enabled
NOTE: Try this setting ONLY if pre-10BASE-T standard hubs
are in use.
/FULLDUPLEX
Full Duplex disable/enable
Possible values - disabled, enabled
NOTE: Enable this setting ONLY if the NIC is
connected to a 100BASE-T or 10BASE-T repeater
that supports full duplex. Otherwise, it will bring
down the network.

Download drivers, patches, and software across the Internet from the 3Com
public FTP site. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
To connect to the 3Com FTP site, enter the following information into your
FTP client:
Hostname: ftp.3com.com (or 192.156.136.12)
Username: anonymous
Password: <your Internet e-mail address>
A user name and password are not needed with Web browser software such as
Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer.

Starten. Parameter siehe in der Hilfe. Das Programm läuft nur im DOS Modus. Dort könnt Ihr nun einstellen, wie sich die Karte beim Booten verhält und es auf der Karte speichern.
Boot PROM
The boot PROM lets the computer start DOS operations through the
network without using a local startup disk. The Disabled setting
indicates that no boot PROM is installed or that you do not want it
active.
The Enabled setting indicates that you want to activate the Boot
PROM. If no boot PROM is installed, the setting has no effect.
Command Line Help
You can configure and test the NIC from the command line. To get
help from the command line, exit this program and type:
3C90XCFG HELP
You can get help information for specific commands such as RUN by
typing:
3C90XCFG HELP RUN
For more information, refer to the NIC manual.
Changing Configuration Settings
This menu item lets you change the configuration settings on the
selected NIC.
Use the arrow keys to scroll through the list of options. To
view all of the possible settings under each option, highlight one
of the options and press [Enter]. Another dialog box appears for
each separate option. Use the arrow keys to scroll through the
settings.
To save any changes to the NIC, press [Tab] to highlight <OK>
and press [Enter]. All setting changes are saved automatically to
the NIC. You can also save the settings to a file by using
the save option in the File Options dialog box.
