Also ich bin gerade echt etwas euphorisch! :D

Das ist ja klasse.:daumen:

Aber mal ne Frage:
Was ist denn eine Cache Folding Speed?

Danke und Gruß
Bernd

Hello everyone, sorry i don't speak german, although i reall am interested in learning :D

I just came here to thank you for all of your feedback and kind words.

There are many more ideas to be added for the future, like comparison webpages where you can compare drives side by side, it will be much more complex then the GPU and CPU Database so it will take a bit of time.
It's in early alpha stage.
I also need to start adding external SSDs as well.

Not easy, of course, considering the fact that the pig bags from manufacturers, after receiving positive reviews of the first edition in ongoing production, then put cheaper and weaker components into circulation without changing the model designation :) .

In this respect, it seems like a Sisyphean task to me until you have all variants of a single model together, if that can or should succeed at all(?).

Because of the mess the manufacturers make, I think the idea is excellent, but I have doubts about its practical use. At the end of the day, the customer will most likely not get an SSD that corresponds to the original specs (~ TPU Database), unless you are a day 1 buyer.
True indeed but I intend to add all variants, just as an example, look for SX8200 in the search engine:

But a question:
What is a Cache Folding Speed?

Thanks and regards
Bernd
Cache folding speeds are when the pSLC Cache is out of space and the controller starts writting DATA at the native TLC/QLC blocks. But when these TLC/QLC blocks are configured as "pSLC" they don't "magically" transform 100GB of TLC blocks into 100GB of pSLC Blocks, they reprogram every cell in each page to store a single voltage stage (AKA SLC NAND). So out of the 100GB of "TLC" space, 33GB are used as pSLC Cache. But when the SSD controller needs that space back it has to "re-program" it again to TLC in order to have the space back, that causes some overhead, which means performance drops even further.
Check out this example in my SSD review of the Netac NV7000 2TB (IG5236 + Micron's B47R Dies)
1669342401042.png

As you can see the SSD has a pSLC Cache of around ~ 680GB which maintain speeds close to 6.7 GB/s. After that the speeds drops to around 2.1 GB/s for 200GB (600GB-800GB), thats the "Native" TLC speeds when the SSD controller is writting directly at the blocks as TLC. But after that those "680GB of pSLC" or around 1800GB of TLC programmed as 600GB of pSLC are ocupied so the controller has to re-program each block/pages to go back to TLC mode, which makes the speed falls until the entire SSD is filled.

The bigger the pSLC Cache, the longer the Folding/Copyback overhead

Check out for example this SSD with Phison E18 + B47R with a more "conservative" pSLC Cache of around 110GB ~ 112GB. Since it could in theory have up to 333GB of pSLC Cache (1000GB / 3 = 333GB) they decided to allocate just a 100GBish.
So the SSD stays writting at the "native speeds" for longer, and shorter in the folding states

It's a very complex topic i hope i made myself clear enough :D

Pleasantly quick site with good search and lots of details
But one thing is missing: energy consumption
At least with a Samsung I didn't see anything
I had been looking for a wolf before to be able to compare different models

But it's in there.. had probably overlooked it on the cell phone..

Very few people on the planet test power draw, i do in my website and on my YT channel, besides me, TPU will start soon, i helped then get in touch with a company that manufactures these professional tools.
Besides that, only Anandtech and Tom's Hardware test it, again As far as i'm aware.

unfortunately missing from many (all SSDs that I happened to look at)
90% of the manufacturers don't share these data, most are extracted from trusted reviews like the ones i'm mentioned previously above
