Hänger im blauen Bildschirm

Hiho.

Ich habe schon viel gesucht und auch in einem anderen Forum gefragt, aber so recht vorwärts bin ich nicht gekommen.

Mein Mini mit OS X10.5.2 fährt ziemlich oft in den blauen Bildschirm und bleibt dann dort hängen, statt den User zu laden. (Hat er auch schon zu 10.5.1 gemacht)

Eine Neuinstallation brachte kurzzeitig Ruhe, bis ich zuletzt Quicktime und das MPEG2 Plugin installierte.

Nun fand ich den Rat mit Apfel+V den Ausführlichen Start anzuschauen.
Da nützt nur nichts, da ich das Log nicht mehr sehen kann, wenn der blaue Bildschirm kommt.

Des weiteren erzeugt das folgende Eigenart: Drücke ich Apfel+V startet der Mini normal.
Habe es nun bestimmt 25 mal gemacht, ohne Fehler.

Einmal habe ich ihn dann nur wieder ganz normal eingeschaltet und er hing prompt wieder fest.

In seltenen Fällen startet er nach 3-4 Minuten dann doch noch, aber dann habe ich keine Netzwerk mehr und muss daher sowieso neu starten.

Bei meiner Suche und auf meine Frage, ob es ein Logfile gibt, das beim Start angelegt wird, habe ich bisher keine Antwort finden können.

Daher: Gibt es ein Bootlog und wo liegt es?
Hat jemand vielleicht eine Ideee, was das Problem verursachen könnte?

Den Tip auf der Apple Seite die Datei ApplicationEnhancer.bundle zu löschen kann ich in ermangelung derselbigen nicht durchführen.

Kannst du dich, wenn er im blauen Schirm hängt, per SSH anmelden?
Dann könntest du mal schauen, wie weit er mit dem Bootvorgang gekommen ist (sudo dmesg). Auch könntest du schauen ob irgendein Prozess den Prozessor auslastet und den dann abschießen (ps ax oder top und abschießen sudo kill PID).

Ansonsten vielleicht mal ein paar einfache Wartungsscripte ausführen (sudo diskutil repairpermissions, etc). Schau dir mal das Programm MainMenu an. Das wird das Problem nicht lösen, ist aber generell ein schönes Programm

Mehr fällt mir auch Anhieb auch nicht ein.

Klar. Einfach an den nächsten Rechner im Netz setzen und per SSH anmelden (Google Putty wenn es ein Windows Rechner ist).

Ich weiß nicht ob man den SSH-Dienst extra aktivieren muss bei OS X oder ob er standardmäßig eingeschaltet ist...
Wenn der Dienst gestartet ist kannst du dich mit deinem normalen Benutzernamen und Passwort anmelden und erhälst eine ganz normale Konsole.

Ich habe keine Ahnung was er in den 5 minuten macht... VMWare mal zum Spaß deinstallieren. Glaube aber nicht dass es damit zusammenhängt...

Beides wird Google oft genannt in Verbindung mit TimeMachine und externen Platten. Schonmal deaktiviert? Ist eine Externe Platte überhaupt dran?

hum. Google spuckt alles Mögliche aus. Airport deaktivieren, 3d games, ... Muss mal selber googlen.

Das ist was ich auf die Schnelle sagen kann. Aber ohne rumzuprobieren wirst du wohl keinen Erfolg haben.

Das ist aber schon mal mehr, als ich selbst heraus gefunden habe, und ich habe Google bemüht.
Das Problem ist, wenn man sich in der Materie nicht auskennt, weis man nicht, worauf man achten muss.

In sofern hast Du mir sehr geholfen und die richtigen Denkanstöße gegeben.
Ein erster Ansatz ist entscheidend: Externe HDD für Time Machine? Ja. 500 GBTrekStor.

Ich werde die TM mal eine weile ausschalten und die HDD abklemmen und dann mal eingrenzen.

EDIT: Es scheint mir so, als hätten wir den Fehler gefunden Kampfgnom.

Ich habe heut ein zweites USB Hub angeschlossen und nun alle Peripherie (bis auf Maus/Tastatur/Soundkarte) und die HDDs nun ausschließlich an diese angeschlossen.
Am Mini sind nun keine HDDs mehr direkt angeschlossen (bis auf die FireWire HDD).

Bisher hat der Mini 4 Neustarts in Sekundenschnelle hingelegt und auch meine VMware HDD wird einwandfrei erkannt, wo es sonst schon mal den ein oder anderen Aussetzer gab.

Ich beobachte das weiter und wenn der Fehler in den nächsten Tagen nicht mehr auftaucht, war es das dann wohl auch.

Ahh ich liebe OS X dafür dass es ein Unix ist

Solch eine Problemlösung soll mir mal ein Windows-User präsentieren ^^

Ganz abgesehen davon ist es natürlich eine echte Frechheit, dass dieses Problem überhaupt auftritt. Ich meine: Es gibt mit Sicherheit ziemlich viele Leute, die externe Platten an ihrem Mac hängen haben und überhaupt nicht auf die Idee kommen dass er deswegen langsam starten könnte.
Ich hoffe mal dass das ganze nur ein Software-Problem ist und irgendwann mal behoben wird.

Dafür erkennt er (mal wieder) meinen iPod Touch nicht mehr an der Networx Docking Station, was vorher am USB Hub einwandfrei klappte.

Muss ich noch verifizieren ob die (mal wieder) defekt ist, oder ein anderes Problem vorliegt.

EDIT:

Tja, zu früh gefreut, heute eingeschaltet, erst beim 3. Versuch ohne angeschlossene USB Hubs (und HDDs) lief er durch.

Die Networx Docking Station ist auch im Eimer... mit Kabel am Hub Synchronisiert der iPod Fehlerfrei.

Die USB Hubs habe ich auch schon durch getauscht ... bin Ratlos

Dann schau dir bitte mal die Ausgaben von ps ax und top an. Das sind Taskmanager

Vielleicht lastet ein Prozess ja den Prozessor voll aus. Dann hätten wir den Übeltäter schnell gefunden.

Im Ordner /Library/Logs/CrashReporter könntest du eventuell Logs finden, die auf dein Problem hinweisen. So gibst du die letzten 20 Zeilen der jeweiligen Files aus, wenn es denn welche gibt:

find /Library/Logs/CrashReporter -type f -exec tail -n 20 {} \;

Dasselbe gilt für andere Ordner in /Library/Logs, die sind alle interessant, wenn es darum geht, das Problem einzugrenzen.

Ich tippe momentan auf VMWare und/oder kaputte USB-Treiber oder so.

Es gibt neues, ich verifiziere derzeit. Ein neustart jagt den nächsten und ich schließe nach und nach die USB Geräte an.
Die Fehlermeldung, die erscheint,, wen es zur erzögerung kommt ist eindeutig diese aus dem system Log:

AppleUSBEHCI[0x402b800]::Found a transaction past the completion deadline on bus 0xfd, timing out! (Addr: 8, EP: 6)

Es taucht auf wenn ich: Eine USB Stromversorgung anschließe (z.B. für eine 2,5" HDD) oder meinen Canon ip6600 Drucker anschließe.
Es scheint, dass OS X mit undefinierten USB Devices (wie es eine USB Stromversorgun ist) Probleme hat.
Beim Drucker kann ich mir vorstellen, dass das Kartenlesemodul schuld ist....

Auf meiner Suche nach dieser Meldung habe ich bisher aber leider weniger Erfolg.
Zumindest lässt sich der Port anhand der Adresse bestimmen: Addr: 8 = USB Port am Hub #2, EP: 6 = USB Hub #2

EDIT:

So, habe das Problem beseitigt bekommen.
Ich habe ein sau teures Belkin USB HUB gekauft.
Die Probleme sind weg...

Der Mini mochte demnach einfach die anderen USB Hubs, sowie die direkt angeschlossene TrekStore HDD nicht.
Ist schon eine blöde Fehlerkombination.
