I have a headache with my brand new Gaming Laptop HP Omen 16-xf0097ng. Specs: Ryzen 9 7940HS, 32gb ram, rtx 4070. Problem is that from the day one the cpu temperatures spikes to 100 degrees by just doing simple tasks like installing software or just playing YT or even voice messages on whatsapp. I think I tried already everything and i didnt get anywhere. Did somebody manage to actually figure it out pls? I am willing to pay money for a successful solution at this point 🤣🤷♂️. Somebody help!
Yeah i was expecting that somebody says it 😮💨. Just wanted to avoid this long process of returning it and waiting again. But it seems like the only way at this state for me. Thanks anyway
High CPU temperatures in notebooks are usually pretty normal…
The problem in this case is, that the 100degrees are reached with a package power draw of only ~30W.
Too likely is there a serious problem with the thermal paste… A fast notebook like this should definitely have a cooling solution that can handle more than ~30W wattage on the CPU package. (Even my Ideapad 5 Pro with 7840HS can handle more than 30W with way lower temps)
So you dont need to feel guilty for returning the notebook. There is something wrong.
Yeah you right. Thanks. But i feel p**ed not guilty 🤣. When I pay 2000€ for laptop it shouldn't come to this. Man can't get these day any quality for his hard earned money.. what would your advise me for a Gaming Laptop to buy for this money? I searched before i bought this one. Did not expected that problem to have really 🤦♂️
I hope you didn't buy it from the HP Store? If you did, it will be very difficult to return it. The HP Store is outsourced. They have very absurd KPIs. So they try to refer you to support to avoid a return. Once there, they twist it so that you are no longer entitled to a warranty replacement.
Don't accept a referral to support... claim your right of return.

Die Lenovo Legion Geräte sind eigentlich immer ganz gut.
Bei Amazon gibt es da Legion 5 Pro mit RTX 4070 für 2000€, das Legion 5 Slim, erneut mit der RTX 4070 aber für nur 1470€ - da jedoch nur mit 16GB RAM und dem 7840HS.
Ich meine die Slim-Modelle haben eine etwas geringere erlaubte TDP bei der GPU um leichter/leiser kühlbar zu sein, haben deshalb ggf. etwas weniger Grafikleistung. Und in diesem Fall müsstest du natürlich evtl. selbst auf 32GB RAM aufrüsten (musst also noch ein 2x16GB Set Notebookmodule hinzurechnen), aber evtl. ist dir die Preisersparnis und das 200g leichtere Gerät die etwas geringere Leistung wert.
(Das Display des Slim ist auch etwas dunkler - aber bereits das Slim hat so wie Helligkeit wie dein HP Omen und das Pro hätte einfach noch mehr, 300 zu 500nits)
Ich finde leider gerade auf die Schnelle keine direkten Vergleichsbenchmarks, was sicher auch daran liegt, dass das Slim in den USA (dem weltgrößten Exporteur von Benchmarks^^) nur mit einer RTX 4060 verfügbar ist, anstelle der 4070 die es hier auch gibt.

Ich habe mir erst dein genanntes Lenovo Legion Slim 5 im Angebot auf Amazon um den Preis gekauft.
Die Grafikkarte (4070) dieses Modells hat die volle TGP von 140 Watt. Den Ram kann man auch problemlos tauschen, sind beide NICHT verlötet.
Und meist werden sogar bei ein paar Reviews bis zu 350 Nits bei dem Display gemessen. Ich kann es empfehlen.
