openSUSE 10.2 und Samsung Syncmaster 950p Plus

Hallo,
ich hab auf meinem Rechner openSUSE 10.2 installiert. Nun habe ich das bekannte Problem, wenn ich mit meinem SAMSUNG Syncmaster 950p Plus auf hellen Seiten bin, dass er so zum pfeifen anfängt. Arbeite in der Auflösung 1024x768. Unter Windows konnte ich das Problem umgehen, in dem ich die Monitorfrequenz auf 100 Hz eingestellt hab, dann wars weg.
Jetz hab ich aber unter Linux das Problem, dass ich die Frequenz nicht so hoch einstellen kann, kann machen was ich will. Er arbeitet maximal mit 92 Hz und das pfeifen geht mir ziehmlich auf die Nerven!
Hat irgendwer einen Rat wie ich auf meine 100 Hz komme? Dann sollte nämlich mein Pfeifen vom Monitor weg sein.

Schöner Monitor Das mit dem Pfeifen ist allerdings seltsam.... aber wenn du meinst das es mit 100 Hz besser funktionoert... ok! Dein Monitor verträgt bei:

1600 x 1200 Max. 87 Hz
1280 x 1024 Max. 101Hz
1152 x 870 Max. 120 Hz
1024 x 768 Max. 132 Hz
832 x 624 Max. 160 Hz
800 x 600 Max. 160 Hz

Von daher kein Problem.

Poste mal bitte deine xorg.conf. Höchstwarscheinlich wird man da was ändern müssen, ggf. modelines einfügen etc.
(die xorg.conf liegt in /etc/X11/xorg.conf)

Das er es vertragen müsste weiß ich, bin jetz grad blos in der Arbeit. Wenn ich heute Abend daheim bin, werd ich meine xorg.conf mal posten. Habs eigentlich darüber auch schon probiert, aber vielleicht hab ich ja was falsch gemacht.

Starte dann mal X neu. Schau mal was er tut, mit glück klappts vielleicht schon.

so, hab jetz das so eingetragen...würde eigentlich super funzen, hab jetz blos 115 Hz

wenn ich fragen darf, was bedeuten bei modeline die zahlen genau oder was kann ich ändern um jetz auf meine 100 Hz zu kommen.

Ich hoffe die stimmt jetzt...

Im Allgemeinen sind "modelines" Konfigurationen, die der X-Server abfragt, wie er einen angeschlossenen Monitor bei einer bestimmten Auflösung und Herzzahl ansprechen soll. Was genau die Zahlen bedeuten weiss ich auch net.

Mit den Modelines werden zu den möglichen Auflösungen die entsprechenden Frequenzen und die Auflösungen für virtuelle Screens und Overscan zugeordnet.
Wenn dein Monitor die angegeben Werte nicht verkraftet und über keine automatische Schutzschaltung verfügt, musst du sehr schnell den Ausschalter treffen, oder er ist hin!
Der Samsung sollte aber eine Schutzschaltung haben, nur sehr alte Monitore nicht.

Du kannst die richtigen Werte aber auch mit gtf ermitteln lassen.
Dazu habe ich hier schon mehr geschrieben:

In deinem Fall wäre das:

~> gtf 1024 768 100

  # 1024x768 @ 100.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 81.40 kHz; pclk: 113.31 MHz

musst du natürlich auf deinem Rechner in einer Konsole selber mal ausführen.
Und die ausgegebene Modeline Zeile deinen Modelines hinzufügen. Die erste mit dem "#" ist der Kommentar zur Übersicht.

Nein, sollte völlig unabhängig nach einer Standardformel funktionieren:

The GTF XFree86 modeline generator takes a desired resolution and vertical refresh rate, and computes mode timings according to the GTF Timing standard. These timings can then be formatted as an XFree86 modeline or a mode description for use by fbset.
