Hallo,

Ich habe hier auf dem Laptop ein Ubuntu 23.10 installiert (das vorinstallierte Windows ist auch noch drauf für UEFI-Updates etc.) und greife von einem Windows-PC per RDP darauf zu.

Nach einer Weile reagiert die Session nicht mehr auf Eingaben. Der Screen-Inhalt wird weiterhin korrekt dargestellt, aber Maus- und Tastatureingaben haben keinen Effekt mehr. Wenn ich das Fenster schließe und die Verbindung erneut aufbaue, funktioniert es wieder eine Zeit lang.

Ideen?
 
Ich vermute, du nutzt xrdp als RDP Host auf dem Ubuntu und Wayland als Displayserver? Da kann es schon mal zu Aussetzern kommen.
Spiegel uns doch mal den Inhalt der /etc/X11/xrdp/xorg.conf, /var/log/xrdp.log und /var/log/xrdp-sesman.log
Wenn die xorg.conf leer ist, dann kannst du sie mit einem Fallback für X11 füllen (hat bei mir bisher immer funktioniert):

Keine der genannten Dateien existiert.

Ich nutze die in Ubuntu integrierte Bildschirmfreigabe (Settings -> Sharing -> Remote Desktop).

Hm, ich habe bei der Installation den automatischen Login aktiviert, deshalb habe ich den Login-Screen noch nie gesehen. Ich habe da jetzt mal auf Wayland umgestellt.

Und nach dem Reboot bin ich jetzt in einer Wayland-Sitzung. Vielleicht löst das ja schon das Problem.

Gerade noch herausgefunden, dass man das in der Datei /etc/gdm3/custom.conf ändern kann. Habe ich auch gleich mal gemacht.

Das Problem ist bis jetzt nicht mehr aufgetreten. Also war wohl der Wechsel von x11 auf Wayland die Lösung. Danke für den Schubs in die richtige Richtung :)

Warum auch immer ein Ubuntu 23.10 per default x11 verwendet.

Wegen dem Nvidia-Treiber, der ist noch nicht zu 100% zu Wayland kompatibel. Hat was mit der antiquirten propietären Puffer-API im Nvidia-Treiber zu tun; mittlerweile hat Nvidia in neueren Treiberversionen aber wohl zum Standard umgeschwenkt.
 
Den proprietären Nvidia-Treiber habe ich nach der Installation via Additional Drivers nachinstalliert. Aktuell die 535.154.05 Shipped war der nouveau.

Vielleicht hat das ja dafür gesorgt, dass auf x11 gewechselt wurde.

Hier funktioniert jedenfalls immer noch alles einwandfrei und die RDP-Verbindung ist nach wie vor stabil.
