Unraid + Unbalance

Hiho zusammen.

Ich hab mal ne frage zu dem Unbalance.

Ich plane bei mir eine HDD aus dem Verbund zu nehmen und dafür sollen zwei neue eingebaut werden.
Jetzt sind natürlich Daten bereits auf der HDD und sollen auf die anderen verteilt werden.

Nach googlen soll das mit dem Plugin Unbalance gehen. Allerdings will ich dabei nichts Flasch machen und mit stellt sich da auch eine frage, wenngleich die wohl blöd is.

Integriert Unbalance die daten in die jeweiligen Ordner auf der anderen platte oder überschreibt der? Sprich wenn ein Ordner quasi verteilt auf drei Laufwerke bereits besteht.

Die schritte die nötig sind wären:

1. Use the unbalance plug in to scatter the contents of the drive to all other drives.
2. Confirm there is no data on the drive when completed
3. Stop the array
4. Remove the disk from the configuration
5. Go to tools/new config and do a new config preserving drive assignments
6. Save and rebuilt parity based on the new config?

Wäre das so in etwa richtig? Ich hab zwar unraid auf deutsch aber das sollte ja kein Problem sein. Unbalance wäre quasi die Bequeme art und weise. Manuell alles in die jeweiligen unterordner zu kopieren stelle ich mir relativ zeitaufwendig vor.

Evtl. hat jemand eine bessere Lösung oder kann mir sagen ob das alles so richtig ist. Ggf. Hinweise auf eventuelle Stolpersteine wären auch nice.

Wenn du eine Paritätsfestplatte hast und die alte Platte kleiner ist als eine die du einbaust, einfach alte Platte raus, neue rein und diese als Ersatz für die alte auswählen. Dann erfolgt ein regulierte und fertig.

die andere Variante mit leer räumen habe ich noch nicht versucht. Ansonsten arbeitet unbalance wie du es beschrieben hast. Nutze ich manchmal um Stammordner zusammenzufügen.

Ich nutze kein Unraid, aber wieso nicht einfach die Prozedur zum normalen Ersetzen einer Data Disk nehmen?

The procedure​

If you are running a very old version of unRAID, such as v4.7 or older, skip down to the next section.

1. Stop the array
2. Unassign the old drive if still assigned (to unassign, set it to No Device)
3. Power down
4. [ Optional ] Pull the old drive (you may want to leave it installed for Preclearing or testing)
5. Install the new drive
6. Power on
7. Assign the new drive in the slot of the old drive
8. Go to the Main -> Array Operation section
9. Put a check in the Yes, I'm sure checkbox (next to the information indicating the drive will be rebuilt), and click the Start button
10. The rebuild will begin, with hefty disk activity on all drives, lots of writes on the new drive and lots of reads on all other drives

All of the contents of the old drive will be copied onto the new drive, making it an exact replacement, except possibly with more capacity than the old drive.

Die HDD dir raus soll is 8TB groß und wird gegen zwei 4tb hdds getauscht. Keine Ahnung ob da so n einfacher Wechsel geht. Ich probiere das Mal mit unbalance

Also ich bin grad dabei das mit Unbalance zu machen. Funktioniert soweit wie erwartet. Allerdings schiebt unbalance immer eine platte nach der anderen voll. Verteilt dies also nicht wie man vermuten könnte.
