Core i7 Benchmarks

In der aktuellen PCGH ist ein Test des Core i7 drin. Das passt auch zu den Gerüchten, dass der Launch morgen stattfinden.

Fazit die Neuerungen gleichen den geringeren Cache mher als aus.I7 liegt bei CPU limitierten Spielen deutlich vor dem Core 2.(Fazit Wort für Wort abgeschrieben nicht von mir interpretiert)

WiC und GRID sind natürlich 2 Musterbeispiele für Anwendungen, die von mehreren Cores profitieren. Andererseits sollten sie deswegen für eine Glaskugel gut geeignet sein, werden X360 Spiele doch für 6 Threads und PS3 Spiele noch für mehr programmiert werden.

Kaufen kann man ihn teilweise wohl auch schon (link).

Ähm *hust* Also KA was sie da für das Print mit nem Beta-Beta-Beta-Board und auch so einem BIOS gemacht haben, aber so schöne Werte für den Core i7 hab ich nicht raus. Eher das Gegenteil, was man so bei Games ja auch sonst so schon gelesen hat. Schneller wird da mit dem Core i7 nämlich mal nix. Aber morgen gibs mehr *hab ich das jetzt laut gesagt^^*

Leider keine Spielebenchmarks, aber ein sehr nüchternes Fazit:

But we are going to hold back our optimistic conclusions and would like to warn our readers that despite all advantages of the new microarchitecture, you shouldn’t expect too much of the new Core i7 processors. First, most of the innovations and improvements are targeted primarily for server applications and desktop users will hardly have a chance to really feel them. Second, when Intel engineers worked on the new Nehalem they didn’t try to increase the “pure” performance but mostly to eliminate the platform bottlenecks that were especially critical in server applications.

The main performance gain from the Core i7 processors that desktop users can hope for will be determined by three factors. First, it is Turbo Boost technology that increases the CPU frequency above the nominal pretty often. Second, it is the integrated memory controller providing remarkable bandwidth and impressive latency. And third, it is SMT technology that will have its positive effect during multi-threaded load in the first place.

And it means that Core i7 will not delight us as much as Core 2 did when they came to replace Pentium 4.

The real revolution will happen when Nehalem processors come to servers. And although inertness of this market will hardly let these CPUs to quickly take over the segment despite all their advantages, servers with processors based on new Intel microarchitecture will definitely make the solutions much more attractive.

As a result, from the positions of the desktop CPU market, we could consider Nehalem just another refresh of Core microarchitecture along the evolutionary path starting with Conroe, then Penryn and now Nehalem.

Ehrlich gesagt würden mich größere Abstände auch sehr verwundern. Wenn man direkt nach dem C2 nochmal so einen Sprung schafft, wäre das ja fast Hexerei

der aaaaaaasi ich will auch so einen ^^ ! man man man ich bin echt am überlegen obs nich mal wieder zeit wär für was neues gott freu ich mich schon auf den CB test. @ volker kann man schon was zum oc-potential sagen?

Der Verkauf wurde aber auch schon wieder eingestellt...

thanks to this thread, intel paid central computer a visit this morning and had them pull all i7 cpu's off their shelves. I was there and watched as the store employee took the handful of i7's out of their locked display.

The intel rep was nice enough about it but they can't be too happy about this. He just told the store employee not to sell any more i7's until the 16th.

Würde ja bedeuten, dass die Beta-Beta-Beta-Boards schneller waren aus welchen Gründen auch immer? Passt doch irgendwie nicht?
