[inspiron 7500] bootet nicht

Guten Morgen erstmal!

Ich soll das Notebook (Dell Inspiron 7500) von meine Chef mit XP bespielen und stosse hier gerade auf Unangenehmlichkeiten.

Habe gerade Format:C ausgeführt und wollte jetzt mit der XP cd booten. Da sagt er mir:

Ungültiges System Datenträger wechseln und Taste drücken

da hab ich mir gedacht, versuchstes mal mit na XP Bootdisk. Fehlermeldung:

Disk I/O errror Replace the disk and then press any key

gleiche Meldung kommt auch, wenn ich ne 98 bootdisk einlege (hab natürlich verschiedene Diskette probiert).

Vor dem Checken der Laufwerke wird folgendes angezeigt:

the amount of system memory has changed or the suspend-to-disk file is absent.

hab dann meinen Chef gefragt und ja, er hat neuen Speicher einbauen lassen. Google sagt darauf:

Steps to resolve it are:

Boot with Windows 98 boot disk.
Start Computer with CD-ROM support
Put in the 30W Series Driver disk which says Notebook Computer in big letters.
Change to the CD-ROM drive letter (E
Type in CD\UTILITY\S2D-TOOL
Type PHDISK /CREATE /FILE then press [ENTER].This will recreate the Suspend-to-Disk file.
It will say something about Pheonix NoteBIOS Hibernation Preparation Utility.
The system will now be reset to allow the BIOS to recognize the changes.
Press any key to reset the system??

After the system is reset, the error should go away and there should be a
new SAVE2DSK.BIN file in the root dir of the C: drive.

naja, was aber net funzt, da ich ja auch mit der win98 bootdisk nicht weiterkomme.

hat vielleicht jemand eine Tip für mich.

Nur zur Anmerkung, bis vorhin lief 98 noch und das Diskettenlaufwerk hat auch funktioniert und Bootdevicereihenfolge ist im Bios richtig eingestellt (A/C/CD-Rom).

F12 beim dell screen drücken.... man, sowas muss man erstmal wissen :/

hat sich somit erledigt.
