Filefront schließt seine Pforten. Der frühere Eigner ZiffDavis hatte Anfang des Jahres seine Videoseiten, zu denen u.a. Filefront zählt, an UGO verkauft.

Bekannt und beliebt ist Filefront vor allem in der Moddingszene, da auch größere Dateien gehostet werden können und ein Download ohne vorherige Registrierung möglich ist.

Na toll, der nächste Hoster macht dicht. Ich fand Filefront recht gut, keine Wartezeiten und meist auch Fullspeed download. Nun muss man auch noch Rapidshare nutzen oder irgend einen anderen Dreck, wo man immer warten muss. Schade, kann man leider nix machen.

Ich fand Filefront recht gut, keine Wartezeiten und meist auch Fullspeed download.

bei mir gurkte der download immer bei 80 kb/s rum. früher lief es dagegen gut und gern mal mit 1,8 mb/s. wieso auch immer. schaden ist es dennoch, denn mods, patches u.ä. konnte man dort immer sehr schnell und übersichtlich finden.

War eigentlich einer der besten Hoster wenn es um Gaming ging meiner Meinung nach.
Kann man das ganze Projekt nicht einfach verkaufen?

Hoffe das ist nen schlechter Aprilscherz, die paar Tage um die Daten zu sichern ist ziemlich kurz und Traffic verursachen tut das ja auch noch mal.

After learning about Ziff Davis Media's plan to shut down FileFront at the end of March, the original founders of FileFront made the decision to buy it back from Ziff Davis Media.


We're happy to announce to the gaming community that as of today, April 1st, 2009, FileFront is a completely independent company again and is no longer part of Ziff Davis Media. 1) The March 24th announcement about FileFront shutting down was NOT an early April Fool's joke and Ziff Davis Media had every intention of shutting down FileFront by the end of March.


2) This announcement about the original founders buying back FileFront from Ziff Davis Media is also NOT an April Fool's joke.


3) We're making this announcement on April 1st because the deal was completed today and we want to bring all services back online immediately.


4) We would NEVER shut down FileFront as an April Fool's joke.


5) We are happy to be back!
