Microsoft und das französische Entwicklerstudio Asobo Studio haben das kostenlose World Update V: „Nordics“ mit dem Schwerpunkt auf die skandinavischen Länder für den Microsoft Flight Simulator (Test) veröffentlicht. Erneut gibt es zahlreiche neue Sehenswürdigkeiten („Points of Interest“) und viele neue Flughäfen zu sehen.
Dänemark, Finnland, Norwegen, Schweden und Island
Nach dem World Update I: Japan und World Update II: USA sowie dem verspäteten World Update III: United Kingdom & Ireland und World Update IV: France & Benelux ist jetzt das fünfte kostenlose Welt-Update für das Simulationsspiel erschienen. Das World Update V: Nordics widmet sich vor allem den skandinavischen Ländern Dänemark, Finnland, Norwegen, Schweden und Island.
Die offiziellen Release Notes zum Patch 1.17.3.0 und dem dazugehörigen Welt-Update 5 listen unter anderem die folgenden Neuerungen:

New localization languages have been added (Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish)

Updated aerial imagery in parts of the Nordic countries
Updated elevation data for Norway, Denmark, Finland and French oversea territories (La Réunion, Mayotte, Saint-Barthelemy, Saint-Martin, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyane and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon)
Watermasks have been updated at various locations
NAVIGATION
New AIRAC cycle 2106 has been implemented
Fixed an issue preventing users from requesting fuel trucks on airports with fuel pumps but without ground equipment parking

77 carefully selected points of interest
Improved data for 100 airports

Außerdem wollen die Entwickler von Asobo Studio fast 200 Objekte und Sehenswürdigkeiten in Handarbeit gestaltet oder überarbeitet haben. Wie alle vorherigen Welt-Updates ist auch das World Update V: Nordics kostenlos für alle Besitzer der Flugsimulation verfügbar und wird beim Startvorgang des Microsoft Flight Simulator automatisch geladen.
Auf der Xbox ist Geduld gefragt
Für Besitzer der Next-Gen-Spielkonsolen Xbox Series X/S (Test) ist indes noch ein wenig Geduld gefragt. Der Microsoft Flight Simulator hebt ab dem 27. Juli auch auf der neuen Konsolengeneration von Microsoft ab.
