Ja, aber KDE macht trotzdem ein verkrüppeltes 1024x768 draus.

ich hab jetzt mit dem Programm "nvidia-settings" das Bild "centered". Nun sind die 1024x768 in Bildschirmmitte und außen jeweils schwarze Ränder. Dafür ist das Bild endlich mal gestochen scharf. Fehlt nur noch die richtige Auflösung 1280x800.

So, hab jetzt alles korrekt. Was habe ich gemacht? Nun, ich vermutete, dass KDE die Auflösung mit eigenen Werten überschrieb. Das stimmte auch, aber es waren auch schon vorher 1024x768.
Herausgefunden habe ich das, nachdem ich mir /var/log/XFree86.0.log mit einem Editor angesehen habe. Drt stand dann irgendwo, dass meine Angaben der Modelines "out of range" waren und der Server eine bessere Alternative selbst ausgewählt hat - 1024x768.
Wichtig ist wohl zu beachten, dass das Display mit H-Sync und V-Sync nicht überfordert wird. Die empfohlenen Werte des X-Serverssind in eben diesem Log auch aufgeschrieben.
Ich habe diese Werte übernommen und hab wieder ein verkrüppeltes Bild bekommen. Diesmal sagte mir /7varlog/XFree86.0.log, dass meine Modelines nicht zu den Werten passen . Also: Modelines falsch. Nun habe ich Internet nach "Modelinegenerator" geforscht und bin auf diesen
Forumbeitrag gestossen. Ganz unten fand ich eine Modeline, die meiner ziemlich ähnlich war, aber doch etwas kleinere Werte. Und die suchte ich ja (war och noch immer "out of range").
Nachdem ich diese Modezeile in meine XF86Config-4 eingegeben hatte und neu startete, hatte ich ein exzellentes Bild.
