Neben Insidern, die das kumulative KB5011563 über das Windows 11 Insider Programm beziehen können, hat Microsoft die Aktualisierung auf Build 22000.593 als optionales Update jetzt auch für jedermann freigegeben und mit einem Rollout in Wellen begonnen, der innerhalb der nächsten Tage abgeschlossen sein soll.
Das nicht sicherheitsrelevante Update sollte somit in Kürze allen Endanwendern von Windows 11 angeboten werden und bringt erstmals das bereits im Insider Programm getestete Wasserzeichen für inkompatible Hardware mit, wie Windows Latest zuerst berichtet hat.

Standard-Browser-Auswahl kehrt zurück
Eine Art Comeback feiert der Button zur Standard-Browser-Auswahl, die unter Einstellungen → Apps → Standard-Apps eine Schaltfläche hinzufügt, welche diesen als Standard definieren kann, wie die Website Deskmodder zuerst berichtet hat.
Zuvor war ein Wechsel des Standard-Browsers eher umständlich umgesetzt, was zu viel Kritik geführt hatte. Hier hat Microsoft einen Schritt zurück gemacht und die Auswahl wieder vereinfacht.

Im Dev Channel und Beta Channel können Insider zudem bereits das Build 22581 ausprobieren, das bereits eine erste Vorschau auf die Features des Herbst 2022 Updates alias Windows 11 22H2 alias „Sun Valley 2“ liefert.
Als Systemabbild (ISO) hat Microsoft das Build 22000.318 freigegeben, das unter dieser Meldung als Download verlinkt ist.
Mit Hilfe des ebenfalls verlinkten kumulativen Updates KB5011563, welches außerdem das aktuelle Servicing Stack Update (SSU) enthält, lässt sich das Betriebssystem nach einer Neuinstallation direkt auf den neuesten Stand bringen.

Wasserzeichen lässt sich entfernen
Über die Registry lässt sich das Wasserzeichen wie bereits bei der Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22557 entfernen respektive ausblenden. Die Redaktion bedankt sich bei der Community, aus deren Reihen dieser Hinweis mehrfach kam.
Anschließend wird das Wasserzeichen auf dem Desktop nicht mehr angezeigt, die Hinweise auf die Inkompatibilität, die Microsoft auch noch an vielen anderen Stellen des Betriebssystems hinterlegt hat, bleiben aber erhalten.
Update auf Windows 11 22H2 bleibt vorerst ungewiss
Während Sicherheitsupdate, kumulative Updates sowie neue Builds auch an nicht oder nur zum Teil kompatible Systeme ausgerollt werden, steht hinter den Feature-Updates derweil noch ein großes Fragezeichen.
Ob nicht kompatible Systeme auf das erste große Feature-Update, das Herbst 2022 Update alias Windows 11 22H2 alias „Sun Valley 2“ aktualisiert werden können, steht zurzeit noch in den Sternen.
