- The new damage algorithm in 7.4 "highlighted" an old (and, apparently, hitherto undetected) bug regarding non-damage penetrating hits (see details under the spoiler), which will also be fixed.
According to Storm:
- The game has a 10-caliber rule for each round - the server "erases" the shell after it flies the distance equal to 10 calibers after the "test condition" is met.
- Currently, this rule is applied on impact. E.g. if you hit a track, the shell can disappear before it ever flies for long enough to hit the hull (depending on the flight path).
- The way the rule was supposed to have applied is to "turn on" only after a penetrating hit that reduces tank HP. In other words, not after hitting the tracks, but after actually penetrating the hull behind the tracks.
You can imagine how many non-damaging penetrating hits could be the result of this little bug.
